Overview
The Master in Advanced Architecture (MAA) revolutionises current architectural approaches by developing novel, decarbonising and inclusive solutions emerging at the intersection of design and digital technologies.
By training professionals to take informed, creative and innovative actions, MAA encourages them to become changemakers and pioneers in the arena of architecture and the built environment.
With a multidisciplinary and multiscalar approach, the programme offers a unique academic structure where students have the flexibility to curate their study agenda based on their interests and career aspirations. By selecting from a range of courses, technologies, and methodologies, students build meaningful proposals that tackle the challenges of architecture today.
Programme structure
Built on “Learning by Doing” and “Design by Research” methodologies, the MAA programme fosters critical thinking and creativity. Students are invited to customise their study agenda, selecting courses aligned with their career aspirations, from state-of-the-art technologies to advanced architectural strategies, equipping them to address the most pressing architectural challenges of today.
MAA + 3DPA (Two-year)
By choosing the MAA01 + 3DPA combination, students follow the MAA01 programme during their first year of studies, followed by the 3DPA programme after the successful completion of the year of the MAA01. This combination allows students to deepen their expertise in robotic manufacturing, material research, and performance-based design, with a focus on cutting-edge additive manufacturing techniques.
The 3DPA (3D Printing Architecture Postgraduate Programme) is a highly specialised six-month intensive programme, bringing together a diverse group of IAAC graduates from different programmes, and experts in 3D printing
